Vancouver Luxury Condos: Coal Harbour Real Estate Information

condoWhen one thinks luxury real estate, industrial land certainly is not the first thing that leaps to mind. We tend to think of industrial land as dirty, loud, and smelly at best. Not the model location for a dream home.

However, all around the world, industrial land is being turned into some of the most sought after real estate going. The driving force behind this massive change is the fact that there are less and less plots of land which can be developed into habitable space. Developers with the vision to transform defunct plots of industrial land into luxury communities can name their price.

This was certainly the case for Coal Harbour, one of Vancouver’s newest and most upscale neighbourhoods. Less than fifteen years ago, this beautiful waterfront community was merely a set of unused railroad tracks, depots, and vacant buildings. The coal vein which had given rise to the development had long since played out, and the site attracted a  mixture of the homeless and ne’er do wells.

Today, Coal Harbour offers residents some of the best ocean views as well as the most modern pieces of real estate in the Vancouver area. The first luxury oceanfront residences to appear in the area were the high rise condominiums built on Burrard Inlet, overlooking the Pacific. The community continued to develop over the next decade or so, and today is a fully connected community, joining the downtown core of Vancouver to Stanley Park, surrounded by the historic sea wall.

Modern high rise luxury waterfront condominiums continue to be the main type of real estate to be found in the Coal Harbour area. Units in these buildings boast incredible views of Stanley Park, Deadman’s Island, and the North Shore mountains. Residents can enjoy the ocean view from their units or from the rooftop lounges that many of these luxury condo buildings boast.

Those looking for alternative luxury waterfront real estate will be interested in the options made possible by the Coal Harbour marina. With plenty of rowing and boating clubs to choose from, the ultimate marine lifestyle is made possible by the fact that the neighbourhood includes six of only 18 homes with legal title in the city of Vancouver.

coal harbour walkAs we mentioned earlier, Coal Harbour is well connected to the heartbeat of Vancouver. It is immediately bordered by the Financial District in the city’s downtown, one of the most important economic centres in the country. In addition, Coal Harbour offers quick and easy access to all the opportunities the city can afford; GM Place is just a twenty minute walk away, with Canada Place within the boundaries of the neighbourhood. The Convention and Exhibition Centre is also within Coal Harbour.

Five Star restaurants and hotels, health clubs, and upscale shopping are all a part of the experience when you live in Coal Harbour. The neighbourhood is high class and scenic, one of the very best that Vancouver has to offer!
